The Sustainabilisation

The concept of "Hållbarisering" (Sustainabilization) was coined when we, the founders of Diamant & Schultz, wrote the book with the same name. In the book, we argue that the era we are currently living in can be compared to previous and ongoing eras, such as urbanization, digitalization, and globalization. Hence the name Hållbarisering (Sustainabilization).

The book has been awarded by the Swedish Marketing Association and

was published by Liber. It includes, among other things, a method for how companies can build their sustainability work. The book’s method has gained attention and laid the foundation for how we work with our

clients today.

The book

The transition to sustainable business practices is only accelerating. More and more companies are realizing the long-term benefits of transitioning to sustainable business models, both in terms of business opportunities and risks. But few know how to approach their transition.

The book is about how companies can proceed with their sustainability efforts. It is based on a number of puzzle pieces that can be put together according to the company’s specific conditions. Using several fictional case studies, it illustrates how companies can create a plan for their sustainability work based on their needs and starting points, making it more concrete and structured.

The authors also describe what companies need to focus on and why time is of the essence, from the perspectives of the planet’s limitations, political developments, and changing demand. We are in the era of sustainabilization.

The book is aimed at sustainability managers, decision-makers in companies, and others interested in responsible business practices. Its structure is useful regardless of the company’s size or where it stands in the transition, and it bridges the barriers and challenges currently present in the business world related to sustainable development.
